What is Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy?

Each person’s internal system has:
Wounded Parts – These hold past trauma, grief, shame, or fear (often frozen in time).
Protector Parts – These try to shield us from emotional pain by shutting down, avoiding, or controlling.
The Self – The authentic, wise, and calm center that holds the power to heal trauma.
Trauma often forces protector parts to take over, making it hard to feel safe, regulate emotions, or trust others. IFS therapy helps heal the wounds at the root, allowing the nervous system to reset and anxiety to dissolve.
